Antonello Diodato Guardigli (ADGART) is a multifaceted figure in the Italian cultural scene: not only a fine experimenter, but he also continues to be actively engaged in the gallery and museum scene. His artworks have received well-deserved international recognition and have been acquired in prestigious collections, as well as being donated to prominent figures such as Pope Benedict XVI and Giorgio Napolitano. He already participated in the Venice Art Biennale in 2017, invited by the National Pavilion of Armenia. The research conducted by the Master in the field of painting is primarily focused on abstraction. The term should be taken broadly, as it not only characterizes creations devoid of figurative references but also includes cases where a realistic subject remains. Abstraction means preserving a certain degree of indefiniteness of the image, thus guaranteeing interpretative freedom. The artwork’s forms and colours are designed to communicate concepts and evoke sensations through direct language, which requires active participation from the audience. The painting becomes the point of contact between the author’s emotions, even the most dramatic ones, and those of every individual facing it; only in this way can a dialogue arise that leads to the collective construction of values. As ADGART paints, he explores the possibilities of a wide variety of references. Over the years, the intensity of the expressionist style, the innate dynamism of Pollock’s drip technique, and the experimental approach of European Informalism have all taken turns in the spotlight. Constant experimentation has not exhausted a creative vein that has gradually detached from the two-dimensional support. The utilization of collage, sculpture, and installations constitutes a sequential advancement that leads to an increased focus on the environmental domain. The various tools meld together to form a versatile language, which is sensitive to the unique requirements of every situation and enables the visual output to be a true representation of the idea that originally sparked inspiration.
