Born in Milan in 1965, he graduated in Medicine while simultaneously attending the Brera’s Academy of Fine Arts. This dual path shaped his approach to art, incorporating a scientific awareness of human fragility into his creative project. The art of Carlo Caldara has an existential approach regarding the identity of man in the world. He has an eclectic attitude towards art, with cycles of various works. He combines painting with photography and creates works, sculptures and installations with various materials, such as polymer concrete, gauze, stones and LED lights. Among the personal exhibitions of recent years: in 2013: “Gli Immortali”, curated by Martina Corgnati, Palazzo del Senato, State Archive of Milan. In2016: “Living your dream”, curated by Federico C. Simonelli with Giulia Monti e Emanuele Beluffi, at the Triennale di Milano, on the XXI International Triennale. In 2016: “Lose your mind”, curated by Annalisa D’Amelio, at Palazzo Flangini, Venice. In 2017: “True Story”, curated by Claudio Strinati, at the Complesso del Vittoriano in Rome. In 2017 “True Story “, curated by Claudio Strinati and Luca Misiano, the Guatemala Pavilion with the patronage of the 57th International Art Exhibition – Venice Biennale. In 2018, with his wife Arch. Federica Kluzer, he presented the work “Virtual Architecture – Real world” at the Guatemala Pavilion of the 16th International Architecture Exhibition – Venice Biennale, “Stigma “, curated by Daniele Radini Tedeschi. In 2019, the artist was invited to exhibit at the 58th International Art Exhibition-Biennale of Venice, Grenada Pavilion, “Epic Memory”, curated by Daniele Radini Tedeschi, where he exhibited a large globe entitled “MEMORY WAYS”, inspired by the Caribbean poet, Derek Walcott. In 2021: “Emozionarte”, curated by Daniele Radini Tedeschi, Studio Architetti Associati, Milan in 2022: “One for eleven”, collective exhibition with Fabbrica Eos gallery, Settimana dell’arte, Turin, Spazio Musa. In 2022: “Worring About Eternity”, curated by Matthias Ritter, solo exhibition, Opus In Artem, Artsy. Nel 2024-2025 solo exhibition: LICHT UND VERGÄNGLICHKEIT, with critical essay of Domenico de Chirico, Galleria BENJAMIN ECK PROJECTS, Munich.
